Once again, the Tea Party proves itself to be the home to the most violent, ambitious gun-toting nutjobs and militia whackjobs. This time it’s a gang of retirees plotting to overthrow the government to “restore the constitution” by shooting all manner of government workers, bombing federal buildings, and indiscriminately mass-murdering as much the public as possible through biological and chemical warfare. All hatched at local waffle house in semi-rural Georgia.

These dangerous domestic terrorists doddering geezers were arrested after buying “silencers” and “explosives,” both inert, from an undercover FBI agent. In their possession at the time of their arrest were many of the necessary ingredients for ricin, which they intended to use to poison the public by spreading on roads and elsewhere. One senescent shooter boastedI could shoot ATF and IRS all day long. All the judges and the DOJ and the attorneys and prosecutors.” Just in case that wasn’t clear enough, one statedThere is no way for us, as militiamen, to save this country, to save Georgia, without doing something that’s highly, highly illegal: murder,” … “When it comes time to saving the Constitution, that means some people have got to die.

According to the complaint, one of the arrested repeatedly cited as the source of their plan the novel Absolved, authored by Tea Party leader and Fox News “expert” Mike Vanderboegh. This is the same Michael Vanderboegh who as a Tea Party leader and former militiaman, called for an armed march on Washington on April 19, and urged people to break Democrat party office windows. He’s also is on government disability. Douchebag.

It’s about time the rest of us, the normal sane people who believe in rational, civil political discourse, say Enough! to violent, unhinged Tea Baggers and Fox News who fan their flames.

This is David Bugert, violent convict and Tea Bagger militia-gun nut, now subject of a manhunt for shooting at police.

Burgert looks like the film actors that play the part of people like him. He’s his own characterization.

This isn’t this dim mouth breather’s first run in with the police: As former leader of the Montana militia group Project 7, he  plotted to assassinate local officials, go to war with the National Guard and overthrow the federal government. Burgert was never charged in an assassination plot because he reached an agreement with prosecutors in 2003 and plead guilty to federal weapons charges including possession of a machine gun. Four other members of Project 7 pleaded guilty in the case and received lesser sentences. And he was just as big a nutcase then.

Burgert’s “militia HQ” gets visitors…

Of course gun nut fringe militia freaks are nothing new in Montana. Burgert has support from the usual wingnut fringe media types.  Then there’s this Tea Bagger whackjob who wants the city of Helena to allow the carrying of loaded firearms in public places. Yes you read that right. LOADED firearms. That’s Tea Party insanity for you… Because everyone needs to carry a fucking loaded gun in public.

In all fairness, news reports say Burgert has some real psychological problems. Gee, you think? But if that’s the case, then he needs help. Whereas Palin is simply a certifiable dumbass. No cure for that.

Video of a violent Tea Partier nut case attacking the speaker at today’s Democratic rally in Houston:

Another example of the Tea Party’s culture of intimidation. But remember, there are no violent Tea Party members.

Senator Scott Bundgaard and some ditz who unfortunately was not his date.

A Tea Party Senator has been accused of abusing girlfriend, Aubry Ballard, after a “Dancing with the Stars” fundraiser. Only state law giving senators immunity from arrest while the legislature is in session saved Arizona state Sen. Scott Bundgaard from a night in jail for beating his girlfriend. Both he and his girlfriend were taken into custody but only his girlfriend was arrested because Bundgaard claimed he had immunity while legislature is in session. Did you get that? Bundgaard told police that they couldn’t arrest him because he was a state senator.

What is it with violent Tea Partiers and Arizona?

Bundgaard’s actual date, Aubrey Ballard, in her post-fundraiser, pre-orange jumpsuit finery.

Ballard directed the Marketing & Public Relations department of a nonprofit safe house that rescues child victims of sex slavery. You’d expect her to know something about domestic violence and how to handle such situations.

This is not the first time Scott Bundgaard has seen the inside of a police cruiser or police station: In the 1980s he was convicted of burglary. After he had served his sentence Bundgaard’s felony conviction was “expunged.”

Is this sort person fit to lead? The Tea Partiers think so.

Another True Patriot: Arizona vigilante, Tea Partier, and murderer of nine year olds.

Minuteman border vigilante and Arizona Tea Partier Shawna Forde was found guilty of the 2009 murder of a nine-year-old Latina girl and her father,  in Arivaca, Arizona.

Brisenia Flores was shot twice in the head by home invaders  enlisted by Forde, who was found guilty of sanctioning racially motivated home invasions to finance (via robbery) her border patrol activities. Flores’ parents were also shot, but her mother, Gina Gonzales, survived.

Forde was  founder and leader of the group Minuteman American Defense, and had strong ties with both the Tea Party movement and prominent anti-immigrant groups, including the influential conservative think-tank Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR). Forde had a habit of ending her emails with the sign off, “Lock and Load”. Her supporters claim she was once a Minuteman National Director–a loose affiliation of anti-immigration border activists who took to policing the border on their own with guns and surveillance equipment. Forde has also had ties with the anti-immigrant Federation for American Immigration Reform. These groups have all been labeled hate groups by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Forde in her blog at the Phoenix Tea Party gushed her enthusiasm for the usual Tea Party Obama-hatred. She wrote exhorting her fellow rightists:

“This is the time for all Americans to join organizations and REVOLT!!!,” she writes. “Refuse to be part of a system only designed to enslave you and you children. Times will get worse before they get worse, *Say no to illegal immigration* Lock and Load, Shawna Forde.”

Other than the usual Tea Party hatred of Obama and immigrants, Forde’s motive according to Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik, was greed. Dupnik told reporters after the trio’s arrest that Forde and the others wanted money and drugs. Forde desired cash to fuel her anti-immigrant vigilante operation and make it more sophisticated. Dupnik also stated that “the plan was to kill all the people inside this trailer so there would be no witnesses.” If the Brisenia’s mother had not returned fire, she probably would have been killed as well.

Murderous Tea Party douchebag, Shawna Forde, enjoying the last bit of fresh air and sunshine this side of the pokey.

On July 18 2010, on a stretch of I-580 freeway in Oakland California, Byron Williams, a 45-year-old ex-felon and Tea Party supporter, engaged in a prolonged gun battle with law enforcement officers. A police affidavit says  that Williams was armed and wearing body armor and said he was on his way to San Francisco to “start a revolution” by killing staff at progressive organizations, including the Tides Foundation, a group frequently targeted by Glenn Beck.  Armed with three firearms and a small arsenal of ammunition, including armor-piercing rounds for his .308-caliber rifle, his body armor allowed Williams to continue firing at police for 12 long minutes before surrendering, despite being hit numerous times.

Both the weapons and the truck he drove belonged to his mother. She said Williams was was upset by “the way Congress was railroading through all these left-wing agenda items.

So we have a 45 year-old convicted felon sympathetic to the Tea Party who is unemployed and living with his mother, steals her guns and truck in order to go on a murderous rampage against left-wing groups. Did you read that Glenn Beck? Let’s see how your inflammatory rhetoric has consequences.

In a series of interviews and correspondence, Williams explained how much he relied on right-wing media – and in particular Fox News host Glenn Beck – for news. Beck, who has declared himself a “progressive hunter,” put Tides at the center of an alleged left-wing conspiracy, and the conspiracy theories featured on Beck’s chalkboard were the basis for Byron Williams’ dark revenge fantasies.

Williams, who said Beck was “like a schoolteacher on TV,” explained:

“I would have never started watching Fox News if it wasn’t for the fact that Beck was on there. And it was the things that he did, it was the things he exposed that blew my mind. I said, well, nobody does this.”

What Williams learned from Beck and the right-wing media inspired him to depart on a journey that could have had deadly consequences. Williams’ rhetoric and his worldview are shaped by, and echo, the conspiracy theories and falsehoods of the hard-right TV and radio talkers he cites as his inspiration. In his interview, Williams says he was pushed over the edge by anger over a conspiracy involving George Soros, Obama, a Brazilian oil company, and the BP oil spill — a conspiracy theory loudly touted by Beck throughout 2010.

Byron Williams took up arms because he thinks an evil cabal of left-wing extremists is trying to destroy the country and engaging in “hideous corruption.” He believes that lie because that’s the “very good information” he heard, constantly, from the sources he trusts — sources like David Horowitz, Michael Savage, Alex Jones and Glenn Beck.

Williams has said:

“Beck is gonna deny everything about violent approach and deny everything about conspiracies, but he’ll give you every reason to believe it. He’s protecting himself, and you can’t blame him for that. So, I understand what he’s doing.”

And as if on cue, Glenn Beck did just that when he issued his “pledge against violence” immediately after the Tucson tragedy. Not a pledge against violence at all, it is in reality a series of paranoid, Tea Party dog whistles to his audience. In reality Beck’s pledge is a call to reject not violence but the “the vast progressive conspiracy that is plotting even now to fundamentally change America.” Half of the items in his pledge aren’t about violence at all – they’re about people who want to “bring down” or “tear down” our “system,” and replace it with something else. It is another attack on those on the Left that Beck has made a fortune attacking, and a renewal of his calls for action from the most paranoid of the 2nd Amendment supporting, gun-toting crowd that one sees in Arizona and spawned Jared Loughner.

In the end, three CHP vehicles had their windows shot out, but no officers were shot. This time.

Beat up any liberal girls lately?
